Principle photography wrapped

Sorry for the late message, folks... we have finished principle photography, which means that once we get all the footage back, we can start editing and shoot reshoots if needed. The last weekend of shooting was amazing, and I want to thank every single one of the cast and crew for that. It's so strange to not be spending every minute of the weekend with them. Well, that's what reshoots are for, I guess.

Stay tuned for more! And check out more of our pictures on our Facebook page.

Second weekend of shooting - wrapped

Just a quick message to keep you all updated. This weekend was great -- we had two super long days, but we got a lot done -- a little over 4 pages -- and we are rolling right along. We have nearly half of the footage shot, and though we're still waiting to see what the first weekend's footage looks like, we're all pretty stoked about it.

Thanks to all who gave encouragement, time and support this weekend. It's hard to give an entire weekend over to a film, let alone about a month and a half worth of weekends, and it is refreshing to see the group of people who make up the cast and crew doing just that. It's starting to feel like a family.

Once again, check out our Facebook page for stills of the set. We won't be shooting this upcoming weekend because of Thanksgiving break, but our next shooting day will be Monday the 29th, for the MRI scene. Pray that we can get accomplished what we need for that day. And a special thanks to you for keeping yourself up to date on the film!

First weekend of shooting

We wrapped up our first two shooting days this past weekend. It was a great success! In two 12-hour days, we shot four pages of the script, which means that we are 1/5 of the way through principle shooting. Now we are just waiting for the footage to return from the lab.

The picture below is from the second shoot. This is nearly all of our cast and crew, minus a couple of people.

We have our next two days of principle shooting this weekend. Check back for more updates! And check out more photos on our Facebook page.

The Monsters Come to Life: Checking in on the Art Department

We've been working hard on bringing Timothy's shadow monsters to life. Our wonderful art director, Joshua Wacker, has designed several different monsters that we are creating marionette puppets of; once the puppets are complete, we will be filming them in silhouette and then handing the footage over to our equally wonderful visual effects man, Will Rowe, who will turn the creatures into shadow monsters.

We've got a lot of work ahead of us, but the puppets are coming along nicely. Here's a sneak peak of our work so far:

Test Shoot - Accomplished!

We had our test shoot this Saturday (check out the pictures on our Facebook page), and, besides a few minor details that can definitely be worked out for the official shoot, all went smoothly. Three of our fellow Messiah students were stand-in actors, and we found a six-year-old boy to stand in for the part of Timothy. We shot one roll on the A-Minima Aaton, and shot the rest on the Canon Vixia, and are excited to get the footage back and see the scene as a whole.

Check back as we continue our journey! Production will be starting soon.

Test Shoot on October 9th

First off: Our first day of auditions is done, but we're still looking. If you're looking to audition, send your resume and headshot to metamorphosisthefilm@gmail.com, and let us know when it is best for you. We will be doing individual audition times.

This Saturday, October 9th, we're running a test shoot of the dinner scene. The scene will most likely have a filler cast until we can finish auditions and get a set cast. Our location scouting has determined the house of our co-producer's parents' house in Hershey, PA to be the location for the Watkins' home. Stay tuned for more info! The pieces are slowly coming together.
